How to sign up to the Portal das Finanças Online
To view your Portuguese tax services online, including IMI bills and payment deadlines, you will first have request a password through the ‘Portal das Finanças’.
Your password will be sent by post to your fiscal address. If your fiscal address is not your own residential address, i.e. if you have fiscal representation, you will not personally receive your password and you will have to contact your representative to access the information.
Only when you have received your password will you be able to access your online account.
To request your password go to:

To complete the registration form you will need to enter your fiscal number (also known as a 'NIF' or ‘No. Contribuinte’), email address, phone number and your fiscal address. Most if not all of this information will be located on the document issued at Finanças, when you obtained your fiscal number.
You will also be asked to register a security question and set whether you would prefer notifications about your account to be sent to your email address or mobile phone.
Once you have completed the form, click 'Registar'. As the password is sent by post and not to your email address, expect to wait up to two weeks before you can log on.
