Getting Around Albufeira by Bus


Running daily:

Green Line, Blue Line, Red Line 1 and Red Line 2:

October - May: 7am - 8pm;

June - September: 7am – 10pm

Orange Line:

October - May: 6.30am – 9.30pm;

June - September: 6.30am – 11.30pm

Average waiting time : 30 minutes,

Expect to wait up to one hour from 2pm on Saturdays, all day Sunday and Public Holidays if using the Green Line, Blue Line, Red Line 1 and Red Line 2.

Summary

The local city bus circuit (GIRO) is composed of five lines (Green, Blue, Red 1, Red 2 and Orange)

with 168 stops, linking the town centre to the Marina, Albufeira Camping, Montechoro, Santa Eulália, Oura, Ferreiras, the train station, and more…

Buses run every 30 minutes and your ticket allows travel on as many busses as you want for up to an hour. All journey’s start from the main bus station, so if you find yourself on the wrong route, just get off at the bus station and catch the connecting bus for no extra charge (within your 1-hour ticket allowance).

The service is friendly and the bus drivers all speak English – they even wait for you to sit down before taking off….

Blue Line: Terminal - Caliços Market - ESA School - Malpique - Town Hall - Inatel - Oura - Santa Eulália - Montechoro - Brejos - Correeira - Town Hall - Belavista - Vale Pedras - EBSA School - Brejos.

Red Line 1: Terminal - Caliços - Health Centre - Camping - Páteo - Vale Sta Maria - Marina - Old Cemetery - Beato Vicente - Av. da Liberdade Terminal - ESA School - Town Hall - Vale Pedras.

Red Line 2: Terminal - Caliços - Health Centre - Páteo - Old Cemetery - Av. da Liberdade Terminal - Health Centre - Caliços - Vale Pedras - Town Hall - Areias de S. João - Quinta da Balaia - Av. dos Descobrimentos - Caliços.

Orange Line: Terminal - Caliços - Health Centre - Camping - Vale Paraíso - Ferreiras Market - Train Station.
